Ann Gillman-Smith

I have been interested in photography for nine years and enjoy creating digital images. My interest has evolved from portrait to pattern pictures and seascapes and more recently to the impact of monochrome images and especially the use of sepia tones. I have found that once one reacts emotionally with the subject a more striking image often results. This has been borne out by recent images taken in Poland and Belgium where first and second world war memorials have encouraged me to create graphic emotional images. These hopefully but respectfully are intended to stir the public conscience of the onlooker. Photography for me has many other dimensions than simply producing pretty images and is a constantly evolving experience of observation and skill.
